FOR HOMESCHOOLERS AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO LEARN MORE ABOUT OUR CANINE COMPANIONS
DOGS Unit Study
Consider using a 3-ring notebook with dividers to make a “Dog Scrapbook” for this unit study.
Label dividers: “Dog Breeds”, “My Dog Art”, “Dog Stories”, “Dogs Around the World”, “The Science of Dogs”, and “How I Helped a Dog”.
Use the unit study ideas below to begin filling in your Scrapbook. But after you’ve finished here, keep your notebook for collecting photos, art, stickers, and any information you learn about dogs.
Happy Learning!
ART
Art
•Draw a dog!
Use the coloring pages, or find a photo of a dog on americanbeachdog.com and use it to help you draw a picture of a dog. Submit you drawing to our art page! And don’t forget to keep a copy in your “My Dog Art” section of your notebook.
•Make your own doggie font
Use drawings of paw prints, bones, or even dogs making letter shapes to create your own doggie typestyle. Use it to write your name or your dog’s name, and keep a copy of it in your notebook under “My Dog Art”
•Design and illustrate your notebook!
Cut and paste pictures from magazines or the internet, use photographs, or draw your own pictures to decorate a cover page and the divider pages for your Dog Notebook.
